B2B Operations Model

We work with your business, not your customers

Stepin's B2C e-commerce logistics is a business-to-business relationship that supports B2C commerce — not a consumer-facing courier brand. Here's how that relationship actually works.

The relationship

A B2B logistics partner, positioned behind your consumer brand

When a shopper buys from your business, the delivery experience they see is yours — your tracking page, your notifications, your brand. Behind that experience, Stepin is the operational partner your business works with to actually move the order: pickup, processing, provider handover, tracking, exception recovery and delivery. The commercial relationship — onboarding, integration, service levels, billing — sits at the business level, the same as any other B2B logistics contract.

Business-level onboarding

Your company is onboarded as a client, with its own pickup locations, service configuration and account — not a one-off booking per shopper.

System-to-system integration

Your e-commerce, OMS or D2C platform connects to Stepin through a webhook-based order integration, tested end-to-end against a mock provider environment before going live.

Your business owns the customer relationship

Stepin executes the logistics; your business owns the brand experience, customer communication and commercial terms with the shopper.

Operational accountability

Order-level status, exceptions and tracking are visible to your operations team — the same data your account contact at Stepin works from, not a black box.

What we actually do

The operational capabilities behind the relationship

At a level appropriate for a prospective business partner, not an engineering spec:

Take in confirmed orders from your systems and identify each one with a unique barcode from the moment it's confirmed
Coordinate pickup from your registered origin location(s), including multiple warehouses or fulfillment points
Route each order to the right logistics provider based on rules — pincode, weight, payment type and service type — rather than one default carrier for everything
Track every shipment and surface status back to your operations team in one place
Manage exceptions — a missed pickup, a provider delay, a failed delivery — as tracked operational events with retry logic, not silent failures
Keep your business's data structurally isolated from every other client on the platform
What this is not

Not a consumer-facing courier brand

There's no Stepin shopfront, app or account for individual shoppers. This page and the B2C logistics service exist for businesses that need to move consumer orders at volume, not for a consumer choosing a courier for a single parcel. If that's what you're looking for, this isn't the right page — but if you're a business responsible for getting 1,000+ orders a day to your customers, that's exactly the problem this exists to solve.

Who this page is for

Operations, logistics, supply chain or founder-level decision makers at an e-commerce, D2C, beauty, FMCG or consumer products business evaluating a logistics partner for consumer order fulfillment.

Common questions

How businesses think about this relationship

Is Stepin a consumer courier service?

No. This is a business-to-business relationship — Stepin works with your company, not with your individual shoppers. Your customers may see tracking updates and receive their parcel, but the commercial relationship is with your business.

Who signs up for this — us or our customers?

Your business. Onboarding, integration, pickup locations, service levels and account terms are all set up at the business level, like any other B2B logistics contract.

Does Stepin replace our own logistics team?

It replaces the operational complexity of order-to-delivery execution, so your team manages the business relationship and customer experience instead of chasing individual parcels.

How does this relate to Stepin's B2B air cargo business?

Both are B2B relationships, run as separate systems for different shipment profiles. See B2C E-commerce Logistics for the operational detail behind this page.
